Scrap Crazy from Night Owl Quilting

Glen and Angela made this pretty quilt for their granddaughter.  She helped pick the fabrics that were going to be included, but she will be surprised with the final product.

Glen and Angela decided on the Pieces of my Heart pantograph which adds a pretty flowing design.

The backing is a soft blue, that began its life as a flat sheet.  Angela always removes the hems and gives the sheet a good wash and press before she brings it to me.  Some longarmers don't like to use sheets, but when they are a good quality and have been washed ...

Blue Onion from Night Owl Quilting

This bold batik quilt was made by Dawn.  The pattern is called Blue Onion by Saginaw Street Quilts.

This quilt is destined to be a wedding gift so Dawn selected the Pieces of My Heart pantograph.  It is a little hard to see against the batik prints on the front, but has a nice flow and show up more clearly on the plainer back.

2 For Madeline from Night Owl Quilting

Madeline sent two lovely baby quilts for some longarm quilting.  First up is the Ebb and Flow quilt pattern by Penelope Handmade.

Madeline chose the Cool Beans pantograph for a nice modern vibe and used one of the wide backs that I keep in stock.

The second quilt is this super sweet Love Letters quilt.  The pattern is from Bre T quilt designs.

The backing fabric is just perfect with the tiny pink hearts. Hearts on hearts was the order of the day as Madeline selected the Pieces of My Heart pantograph.

Two for Liane from Night Owl Quilting

Liane brought two sweet little quilts.  The first is a 3 yard quilt pattern from The Fabric Cafe called Dazzle that is from "The Magic of 3 yard Quilts" book.

Liane selected the Pretty Posies pantograph and I think it compliments the print in her fabric perfectly.

Next is this pretty in pink quilt.  The pattern is called Zip It from the Missouri Star Quilt Company.  Liane selected the Pieces of My Heart pantograph for a sweet finish.

Ukrainian Sunflower from Night Owl Quilting

Mary brought two lovely quilts that she made with the intention of donating away through her local quilt guild.  First up is this beautiful sunflower quilt.  The pattern is a free download from Sugar Free Quilts called "Ukrainian Sunflower."

Mary knew that she wanted a design with some hearts on it and quickly decided on the Pieces of My Heart pantograph.  We used a murky green thread that blended well across the quilt.  The Cuddletex backing fabric that she brought quilted up very nicely.  This was the first time I quilted the exact product to my knowledge.  It is very ...

Wrapped in Love from Night Owl Quilting

Angela made this adorable baby quilt for her granddaughter.  The pattern is called Wrapped in Love and is from the book "A Piece of Cake" by Peta Peace.

Angela selected the Pieces of My Heart Pantograph and we used a pale peach thread.  The backing is a cute flannel print that matches so nicely.

With Glowing Hearts from Night Owl Quilting

The two quilts are shop samples for Keystone Modern Creative using the "With Glowing Hearts" pattern from Patti's Patchwork in both the "panel" and "all blocks" options.  The featured fabric collection is the Oh Canada! 10th Anniversary Stonehenge Collection from Northcott.  Northcott is celebrating with a quilt along and a contest that you can learn all about here.

The hearts were speaking to me on this first quilt, so I quilted it with the Pieces of my Heart pantograph.  It has very nice movement and the density felt just right.

The leaves on the panel of the second quilt ...

Sweet Bunnies & A Bonus Quilt from Night Owl Quilting

I have two quilts to share today.  The first is a sweet baby quilt Reneta made using a single charm pack and and some leftover bits of this and that.  The bunny is from the Delightful Dessert pattern by Elizabeth Hartman.  The layout was inspired by this one made by Elm Street Quilts.  The hearts and bunny tails are pink minkee which just adds to the cuteness!

Reneta selected the Pieces of My Heart pantograph and my hardest job was selecting a thread color.  I ended up with a medium/dark green that didn't look too bold on the ...

Tula Pink Stack 'n Whack from Night Owl Quilting

Reneta made the fun Stack 'N Whack quilt as part of a friendly little challenge between friends.

Last year friends Reneta, Amy, Shalane and Jocelyn were attending a retreat a Fabriculous in Swan River, MB.  They noticed a whole bunch of Tula Pink fabric on the sale rack and decided that they would pick their favorites and create some variation of a Stack 'n Whack quilt out of it before the next retreat.  Well thanks to Covid, the retreat did not go on as planned this year, but Reneta did get her quilt top done.

Reneta used the leftover blocks ...

Two More Beauties for Sherry from Night Owl Quilting

The first of Sherry's two quilts that I'm sharing today is a pattern called Arboretum by Saginaw Street Quilts.  Sherry started this quilt in a workshop a number of years ago, and decided to change up the size and layout to suit her needs.

Sherry chose the Zephyr pantograph and I love the feel of the wind blowing across the leaves.

Sherry is always drawn to fabric that includes text, and I love how the border and the backing tied together.

The second quilt started out to be one thing but ended up being another.  Three Churn Dash ...

Freehand Embroidery from Night Owl Quilting

Karen brought this very unique piece to my studio with the hopes that I would be willing to offer some advice and take on the challenge.  The top was made by her mother-in-law who is now over 90 years old, and her sister-in-law (who is not a quilter) was hoping Karen would see to getting it finished.

Karen's mother-in-law is an artist, she used many mediums, and is also skilled at handwork.  Every flower spray was hand drawn on to the fabric and then embroidered.  Her work is so tidy that it is difficult at first glance to see ...
